When you or a loved one have been the victim of sexual abuse
or incest, it is your responsibility to be as actively involved in the legal process as possible. No one has to do this
alone and there are numerous people willing and available to help. There are victim's advocates to support you
or your loved one during each and every step of the legal process. It is their job to keep you informed,
to answer any/all of your questions, to give you a tour of the courthouse and to go over each step of the legal process
in order to alleviate any fear or uncertaintly you might have regarding your case. Becoming involved in the legal
process empowers us, helps us with closure, and allows all victims to take back some of the control which was taken
away from us for so many years. We all deserve justice for the crimes committed against us and our loved ones!!
Researching the laws and sentencing guidelines in your own individual state
gives you the knowledge and understanding of what you can expect. It also prepares you for the court proceedings
and helps you think of any questions you may have for the prosecuting attorney of your case.
Just remember...knowledge is power. Once the secret has been told, you are no longer
a victim but a survivor who is on an individual path of healing. Research and learn everything you can in order
to be prepared and in more control of the legal process for which you will embark. Good Luck!!

page is under construction and hopefully it will be completed in the coming weeks. Please be patient.
If the chapters and titles, etc are listed under the state, that link is working. I will be working on the states
by rows.
