Attitude of Gratitude

Everyday we get up, eat, work, clean our house, sleep and do it all over again.

Do you ever think about how lucky you are? Or do you just complain, complain, complain? Even if your life feels like a living hell, I bet there is plenty to be thankful for.

Many times we get so wrapped up in what is going on around us that we forget to be thankful for what we have. The stresses of the world and our schedules tend to keep us so busy, we sometimes forget what we have to be thankful for. Learning to be thankful can have a powerful effect on your attitude. Psalm 118:1 states it clearly, " Give thanks to Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever".

It is so easy to forget all the things we have in our lives to be thankful for. My mother in law once told me that a creative person could take a cardboard box and turn it into a home if needed. I agree, but having a place to sleep and get out of the elements, and call your own should be a place of gratitude and thanksgiving. I have a very close family member that is never thankful for what they have. They say they are but then covet new better versions, or things that The Jones' have. This person is never happy with anything in their life, and tends to walk away from God regularly. Without an attitude of gratitude, everything in our life's is effected.

Practice gratitude daily, be sure to take time always to be thankful for what you have instead of worrying about what you don't. Having gratitude will not only be good for you, but can change your actions as well. Praise God for all that he has done for us and continue to do for us in our daily lives. We have more to be thankful for that you might think!
